The KENNAMETAL 3658863 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 3/4-inch mill diameter, a 3-inch length of cut, and a 0.03-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the tool tip and extends service life in high-feed operations. The three-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a high helix style promotes efficient chip evacuation, making it well suited for aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC programmers specify this tool for long-reach roughing passes where rigidity and chip clearance are both critical.
This end mill belongs to KENNAMETAL's AADE series and is built with a submicron carbide grade in a bright/uncoated finish, which is preferred for non-ferrous materials where coating adhesion can cause built-up edge. The straight cylindrical 3/4-inch shank seats directly into ER single angle standard collets. Its long-length classification (5.25-inch overall length) makes it appropriate for deep-pocket and tall-wall milling operations in production machining environments, job shops, and toolrooms working with aluminum plate, extrusions, or non-ferrous castings.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholding torque and runout specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or tool-change state before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the recommended minimum grip length to prevent pull-out under cutting loads. Verify runout at the tool tip with a dial indicator before beginning the first cut, as runout beyond acceptable limits will accelerate flute wear unevenly on a three-flute tool.
