The KENNAMETAL 3658837 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 0.5 inch diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge. The 4 inch overall length and 0.5 inch straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard end mill toolholders. With three flutes, a high-helix spiral geometry, and a bright uncoated finish, this tool is built for efficient material removal in roughing applications. It is single-end and centercutting, allowing plunge entry. The submicron carbide grade provides the hardness and edge retention needed for consistent performance in non-ferrous machining environments.
This end mill is intended for use on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper alloys in both CNC machining centers and manual milling setups. The AADE series long-length configuration suits applications where extended reach is needed without stepping up to a larger shank diameter. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling in production and job shop environments. Machinists and CNC operators in aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing will find this tool well suited to profiling, slotting, and roughing passes on non-ferrous workpieces.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. The 0.5 inch straight-cylindrical shank fits ER collet chucks, side-lock holders, and shrink-fit toolholders sized for 0.5 inch shanks. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock is engaged before installing or removing the end mill. Use the appropriate torque on collet nuts or set screws per the toolholder manufacturer specifications - do not overtighten. Verify runout after installation to maximize tool life and surface finish quality.
