The KENNAMETAL 3658828 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that blends the floor and wall of a milled pocket to reduce stress concentrations. With three right-hand spiral flutes and a high-helix geometry, the tool promotes efficient chip evacuation at the cutting zone. The submicron carbide grade delivers hardness and wear resistance suited to aluminum, copper, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. It is single-end, centercutting, and ships with a bright uncoated finish in the AADE series.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and knee mills where non-ferrous materials require a controlled corner radius profile. The coarse pitch and high helix angle make it well matched to roughing operations in aluminum alloys and similar soft metals. The straight cylindrical shank with a 3/8 inch diameter is compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders, including HC-HSK Form A tooling systems. It is suited for shop environments running production work or prototype machining where a long-reach configuration and reliable chip flow are priorities.
Designed for use with HC-HSK Form A tooling systems. Fits standard 3/8 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills used in non-ferrous metal applications.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended gage line depth before torquing the retention hardware. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius for chips or damage before mounting. Confirm runout at the tool tip with a dial indicator after installation, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and degrade corner radius accuracy.
