The KENNAMETAL 3658827 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting and machining applications. Built to the AADE series standard, it features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 3-flute spiral geometry with a 37-degree helix angle. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. This tool is supplied in an uncoated (bright) finish and manufactured from micrograin K600 carbide grade, offering the wear resistance and edge retention needed for demanding cuts. It is installed and used by machinists and tooling technicians in job shops, production environments, and maintenance machine rooms.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a sharp, uncoated carbide edge is preferred over coated alternatives. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration make it compatible with standard vertical and horizontal milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills. The 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard ER and side-lock collet systems commonly found in production toolholding setups. The 4 inch overall length provides reach for the majority of typical workpiece depths without excessive overhang.
Designed as an OEM-style tooling solution for standard 3/8 inch collet or side-lock toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines; verify spindle and toolholder compatibility before use.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out before tool changes. Ensure the collet or toolholder bore is clean and free of chips before seating the shank to the recommended engagement depth. Follow machine manufacturer torque specifications for collet nut tightening. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after installation before initiating a cutting pass.
