The KENNAMETAL 3652767 is a polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN) turning insert designed for high-wear-resistance machining of hard materials, cast iron, and special or super alloys. It carries the ANSI insert code CNGA432 and the ISO code CNGA120408, placing it in the KENLOC series with a neutral hand orientation and negative rake geometry. The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape provides a strong cutting edge, while the chamfered and honed edge preparation extends tool life under demanding conditions. Two cutting edges are available per insert. This insert is installed by machinists and tooling specialists in CNC turning, facing, and boring operations where CBN-grade performance is required.
This insert is suited for finishing and semi-finishing applications on hard materials including hardened steels, cast iron grades, and select super alloys. Its flat-top chip breaker geometry and uncoated bright finish are specified for applications where the PCBN substrate itself provides the required wear resistance without an additional coating. The KENLOC series clamping system uses a clamp and pin holding method, making this insert compatible with standard CNGA-style toolholders. Typical applications include external turning, facing passes, and boring on horizontal or vertical CNC lathes and machining centers.
Designed for use in CNGA-style toolholders compatible with the KENNAMETAL KENLOC clamping system. Suitable for turning, facing, and boring of hard materials, cast iron (ISO K), and special or super alloys (ISO S). Material grades H25 and H35 are the designated PCBN substrate grades for this insert.
This insert is seated and secured by a machinist or tooling technician using the clamp and pin holding method standard to KENLOC-series toolholders. The machine spindle must be stopped and all moving components fully arrested before indexing or replacing the insert. Inspect the toolholder pocket and locating surfaces for chips or debris before seating the insert, as contamination can cause improper seating and premature edge failure. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque specifications and the applicable shop safety procedures when handling PCBN inserts, as the cutting edges are extremely sharp.
