The KENNAMETAL 3649191 is a solid carbide milling insert with ISO designation EDCT10T308PDERLD and manufacturer grade KC725M. It features a parallelogram shape with a 70-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry, and a honed cutting edge for smooth, consistent chip formation. The insert carries a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, delivering heat resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting applications. Key physical dimensions include a thickness of 0.148 inches, an inscribed circle of 0.266 inches, a width of 0.265 inches, and a length of 0.474 inches. A corner radius of 0.031 inches (1/32 inch) is standard on this insert. Two cutting edges are available, and the insert is single-sided with a right-hand orientation. Installation is screw-held. Installed by machinists and tool-room professionals in CNC milling operations.
This insert is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to ISO material grades P, M, and S and ANSI material grades C5, C6, and C7. It is well suited for medium to finishing milling passes where edge integrity and coating adhesion under thermal load are critical. The LD chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation in these material groups. Compatible with the Mill 1-10 cutter series, this insert fits standard screw-lock tooling bodies designed for the EDCT10T308 insert size within that platform.
Compatible with the Mill 1-10 cutter series. Designed for screw-lock tooling bodies accepting EDCT10T308-size inserts. ANSI code EC1008ELD. ISO code EDCT10T308PDERLD. Meets ANSI and ISO insert standards.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool locked out before inserting or replacing cutting inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the tooling body manufacturer's specified seating method — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installation to ensure proper contact and runout.
