The KENNAMETAL 3641736 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ISO designation EDPT10T308PDERHD and manufacturer grade KCPK30. It features a three-layer CVD coating stack — TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 — engineered for wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted and continuous milling operations. The parallelogram insert geometry with a positive rake and 15-degree relief angle reduces cutting forces on the workpiece. Thickness measures 0.1476 inches and inscribed circle diameter measures 0.2660 inches. With two cutting edges and a honed cutting edge style, this insert is suited for productive material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It is installed and indexed by licensed machinists and CNC toolroom technicians.

This insert is designed for use in milling applications where consistent performance across difficult workpiece materials is required. The HD chip breaker designation targets moderate to heavy depths of cut up to 0.5000 inches, making it applicable in both roughing and semi-finishing passes on machining centers and milling machines. Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom technicians. Shut down and lock out the spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key driver to secure the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert pocket seat and screw threads for chips or debris before seating a new insert.
