The KENNAMETAL 3640750 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. It measures 5.20 mm (0.2047 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 82.00 mm (3.2283 inches) and a flute length of 44.00 mm (1.7323 inches). The 140-degree split point with web thinning reduces entry thrust and improves centering on hard materials. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-heat cutting conditions. This drill carries a straight cylindrical shank and is manufactured to DIN 6537K specification. It is intended for use by machinists and toolroom technicians working in production or job-shop environments.
The 3640750 is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys in both CNC machining centers and manual drill press applications. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports a maximum drilling depth of 35.00 mm. Coolant-through capability makes this drill well suited for deep-hole applications in hardened or gummy materials where chip evacuation and heat management are critical. The right-hand cutting direction and regular spiral flute geometry are compatible with standard clockwise-rotation spindles.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloy workpieces. The 6.00 mm straight cylindrical shank (15/64 inch nominal) fits standard collet chucks, drill chucks, and shrink-fit holders accepting that shank diameter. Suitable for use in CNC machining centers and conventional drill presses with clockwise spindle rotation.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the holder bore and shank are clean and free of chips or burrs before seating the drill to prevent runout. When using coolant-through capability, verify that the machine spindle and toolholder support internal coolant delivery at the appropriate pressure. Tool grinding or regrinding of solid carbide drills requires diamond grinding wheels and should be performed by qualified personnel to maintain point geometry.
