The KENNAMETAL 3580840 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding materials. It features a 1/4 inch diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.015 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at workpiece edges and extends tool life. The 5-flute, single-end geometry with a high helix spiral flute design promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining a strong core. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness, making this end mill well suited for dry or near-dry cutting conditions. Machinists and CNC operators in tool rooms, job shops, and production environments rely on this tool for both roughing and finishing passes.
This end mill is designed for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank, 2.5 inch overall length, and normal pitch make it compatible with standard collet chucks and hydraulic tool holders. It is specified for use with HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores and HC-CV Form AD holders. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are standard. The UCDE series designation places this tool in Kennametal's submicron carbide grade lineup, optimized for tight-tolerance finish work and intermediate-stock roughing in difficult alloys.

Confirm runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for high-speed milling operations.
