The KENNAMETAL 3580792 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in steel, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 1.25 inch length of cut, and a 0.015 inch corner radius that reduces edge chipping and extends tool life in demanding applications. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness, making it suitable for dry or semi-dry cutting at elevated temperatures. This is a single-end, right-hand cutting tool with a straight cylindrical shank and a high helix angle. It is installed by machinists and toolroom professionals in CNC machining centers using standard end mill toolholders.
This end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing operations on steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. The 5-flute geometry with normal pitch and spiral flute type supports chip evacuation while maintaining surface finish quality. It fits into standard end mill toolholders and is a strong choice for production environments where tool consistency and coating durability are priorities. The UDDE series designation identifies it within KENNAMETAL's submicron carbide grade lineup, optimized for difficult-to-machine materials in aerospace, die and mold, and general machining applications.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Intended for machining steel, superalloys, and titanium. Compatible with CNC machining centers that accept straight cylindrical shank tooling at 0.5 inch shank diameter.
Install in a clean, properly sized end mill toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder specification before operation. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tools. Power down the spindle and lock out the machine before changing or inspecting the tool. Do not use this tool in a manual milling machine without adequate rigidity and spindle speed control.
