The KENNAMETAL 3580786 is a single-end, 5-flute solid carbide square end mill engineered for aggressive metal removal in demanding milling applications. Built on the UCDE series platform and coated with AlTiN, it handles elevated cutting temperatures without sacrificing edge life. The mill diameter measures 0.75 inches (19.05 mm) with a matching 0.75-inch shank diameter and a length of cut of 1.5 inches (38.10 mm). Overall length is 4 inches (101.60 mm). A 38-degree helix angle combined with a variable index flute geometry reduces chatter and improves surface finish on difficult materials. Material grade KC643M provides the substrate toughness needed for interrupted cuts and hardened workpieces. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this tool in standard end mill holders or collet chucks.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened materials in ISO material groups P, M, K, and H. Typical applications include profile milling, slotting, and side milling on vertical and horizontal machining centers in production and job-shop environments. The AlTiN coating extends tool life in dry and semi-dry cutting conditions where heat buildup is a concern. The tool is right-hand cutting with right-hand flute direction and does not feature centercutting geometry, so it is not intended for direct plunge operations without a pilot feature.
Compatible with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened materials (ISO groups P, M, K, H). Designed as an OEM-style tooling solution within the KENNAMETAL UCDE series for CNC machining centers accepting 0.75-inch shank end mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholding torque and runout specifications. Confirm shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut. Do not use this tool for direct plunge entry; ramp or helical entry strategies are required due to the non-centercutting geometry. Follow all machine guarding and personal protective equipment requirements per applicable shop safety standards.
