The KENNAMETAL 3352573 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-precision finishing operations in steel and hard materials. Built to the KMDA series specification, this single-end stub-length tool features a 0.25-inch mill diameter, a 0.016-inch corner radius, and six right-hand spiral flutes with a close pitch configuration. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness suitable for dry or near-dry cutting conditions in demanding ferrous alloys. Machining centers running hard materials in the HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeve range are typical deployment environments. The overall length is 2.5 inches with a 0.25-inch straight cylindrical shank.
This tool is intended for finish milling passes on steel and hard material workpieces where corner radius form accuracy is critical. The stub flute length of 0.013 inches LOC makes it well suited for light axial engagement and tight-tolerance profiling. The extended-reach geometry, with a neck diameter of 0.211 inches and a 0.75-inch reach length, allows access to recessed features without sacrificing rigidity. It is sized for use in standard 1/4-inch collet or hydraulic chuck toolholders common to vertical and horizontal machining centers. Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom personnel.
Specified for use with HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves with inch bores and HC-CV Form AD toolholders per manufacturer documentation. Primary workpiece material codes P and H cover steel and hard material grades.
This end mill is installed and changed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before tool changes. Verify collet or hydraulic chuck bore size matches the 0.25-inch shank diameter before seating the tool. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges under magnification before first use; do not run chipped or damaged tooling.
