The KENNAMETAL 3331176 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation HNGJ0905ANSNGD and manufactured to the KC725M grade. It features a hexagonal shape with a 120-degree included angle, providing 12 cutting edges per insert for extended tool life and reduced cost per edge. The insert is double-sided with a negative rake geometry and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style. A TiAlN coating applied via PVD process improves wear resistance and thermal stability during high-performance milling. Thickness measures 0.219 inches and inscribed circle diameter is 0.625 inches. The GD chip breaker geometry is engineered for controlled chip formation across a range of cut depths up to 0.500 inches.
This insert is designed for milling applications in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, and S. It is suited for use by machinists and tooling technicians in production milling environments where consistent performance across difficult-to-machine materials is required. The insert is compatible with the Kennametal Dodeka cutter series and is held in place by screw clamping. It fits typical applications in aerospace, oil and gas, and general metalworking where material toughness and coating durability are critical factors.
Compatible with the Kennametal Dodeka cutter series. ANSI code HNGJ535ANSNGD and ISO code HNGJ0905ANSNGD. Rated for material grades C5, C6, and C7 and primary workpiece materials steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and de-energize all machine tool axes before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque driver for the clamping screw to avoid over-torquing the insert pocket. Inspect the insert pocket and screw for wear or damage before installing a replacement insert.
