The KENNAMETAL 3093719 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ISO designation HNGJ0905ANSNGD and manufacturer grade KCPK30. This hexagonal, double-sided insert features 12 cutting edges and a negative rake geometry with a 15-degree rake angle. The CVD-applied multilayer coating — TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 — provides wear resistance and thermal stability across a wide range of workpiece materials. With an inscribed circle of 0.6250 inches and a corner radius of 0.0472 inches, the insert is engineered for precision material removal in demanding milling operations. It is installed via screw holding and is compatible with the Dodeka cutter series. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the typical end users.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, covering material grades C1, C5, and C6 under ANSI classification and P, M, K, and S workpiece material codes under ISO classification. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose material removal in both production and job-shop environments. The GD chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation across these varied workpiece materials. The neutral hand designation makes the insert adaptable to a range of cutter body orientations. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO insert standards.
Designed for use with the KENNAMETAL Dodeka cutter series. Insert conforms to ANSI standard HNGJ535ANSNGD and ISO standard HNGJ0905ANSNGD. Compatible with cutter bodies accepting a 5/8-inch inscribed circle hexagonal insert with screw-type holding.
Installation is performed by licensed machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque driver for the cutter body screw to avoid insert rocking or premature breakage — refer to the cutter body manufacturer documentation for the specified torque value. Inspect the pocket seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert.
