The KENNAMETAL 3066053 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the KCK20 grade designation with a CVD-applied TiCN and Al2O3 coating for wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The insert features a neutral hand orientation and a 6.05 mm cutting width with a maximum depth of cut of 4.90 mm. The B-style chip breaker promotes controlled chip formation during interrupted and continuous grooving passes. Machining professionals and CNC operators use this insert in production turning environments where dimensional consistency and tool life are critical.
This insert fits Series A4 toolholders and is suited for grooving operations in materials classified under C3 and C4 material grades, including cast irons and hardened steels where CVD coatings provide a performance advantage. The G0605M0B insert size fits standard A4-series grooving systems. It is a single-use insert sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units. This insert is appropriate for shops running medium to high production volumes on CNC turning equipment where repeatable groove geometry is required.
Designed for use in Series A4 grooving toolholders. Fits insert size G0605M0B. Suitable for C3 and C4 material grade applications as specified by KENNAMETAL grading standards. Consult the toolholder documentation to confirm insert pocket geometry before installation.
CNC machinists and turning center operators should power down and lock out the machine before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert-clamping hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer - do not overtighten the clamp screw. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the insert. Confirm insert orientation matches the neutral-hand designation of the toolholder before resuming cutting operations.
