The KENNAMETAL 3033726 is a solid carbide milling insert manufactured to ISO code EDPT140412PDERHD and ANSI code EP1412EHD. It carries a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 under manufacturer grade KCPK30, a wear-resistant classification suited for demanding interrupted and continuous cuts. The insert is parallelogram-shaped (EDPT series), right-hand cut, with a positive rake geometry and a honed cutting edge style. At 0.1772 inches thick and 0.3291 inches inscribed circle diameter, it is held in place by a screw and delivers two usable cutting edges per insert. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments use this insert for face and shoulder milling operations.
This insert is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium — material application codes P, M, K, and S. It is compatible with the Kennametal Mill 1-14 cutter series. The HD chip breaker geometry is suited for roughing and semi-finishing passes where chip control in tough materials is a priority. A maximum depth of cut of 0.5000 inches makes it appropriate for aggressive stock removal on CNC machining centers. Single-sided construction means each insert offers two cutting edges before replacement.
Compatible with the Kennametal Mill 1-14 cutter series. Insert style is EDPT, insert size code 1412, and the ISO designation EDPT140412PDERHD confirms direct fitment in toolholders specifying that geometry. Verify cutter body compatibility before installation.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machining center before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key for the clamping screw — do not overtighten or cross-thread the screw, as carbide inserts are brittle and the pocket threads can be damaged. Inspect the cutter body pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout accuracy.
