The KENNAMETAL 2983890 is a solid carbide milling insert manufactured to ISO code EDCT140404PDERGD and ANSI code EC1404EGD. It carries the KC725M manufacturer grade and features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, delivering thermal resistance and wear life in demanding cutting applications. The insert is parallelogram-shaped with a 70-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry, and a honed cutting edge style. Two cutting edges are available per insert. Thickness measures 0.177 inches and inscribed circle diameter is 0.3341 inches. The GD chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation across a range of material types. This insert is engineered for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to material grade classifications C5, C6, and C7 and ISO work material codes P, M, and S.
