The KENNAMETAL 2658236 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. It measures 0.625 inches in diameter with a 140-degree split point and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The overall length is 5.2362 inches with a flute length of 3.2677 inches. Coolant-through capability directs cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, improving chip evacuation and thermal control during deep drilling. This drill is suited for production machining environments where tool longevity and hole accuracy are critical.
This drill is built for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The right-hand spiral flute geometry and web-thinned point reduce thrust force at entry, making it well-suited for CNC machining centers and drill presses running tight-tolerance production work. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and drill chucks across common machine spindle sizes. It conforms to DIN 6537L specification, which defines jobber drill geometry for precision industrial tooling applications.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and other machine tools accepting a 0.6299-inch straight cylindrical shank. Rated for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials within the 0.5000 to 0.6500 inch drill bit size range.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians with the machine fully powered down and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the shank firmly in a collet chuck or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before beginning any cutting operation. Verify coolant-through supply lines are connected and flow is confirmed before drilling to prevent premature tool wear. Do not use this drill as a manual hand-drill bit; it is designed exclusively for machine spindle use.
