The KENNAMETAL 2658221 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to DIN 6537L specification, it features a 140-degree point angle for reduced thrust and self-centering on entry, and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life under high-heat cutting conditions. The 11/32-inch (0.3438-inch) diameter drill delivers consistent, accurate holes with a diameter tolerance of +0.006 to +0.021 mm. Coolant-through construction channels fluid directly to the cutting edge, making this drill well-suited for deep-hole operations and hard materials. Machinists and toolroom technicians working in production environments are the primary users.
This drill is intended for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. The right-hand, regular spiral flute geometry provides reliable chip evacuation across these workpiece materials. The straight cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. With an overall length of 4.0551 inches and a flute length of 2.4016 inches, it is sized for a broad range of machining center, drill press, and lathe turret applications where a standard jobber-length reach is sufficient.
Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous metals. Straight cylindrical shank with a 0.3937-inch shank diameter fits standard drill chucks and collet holders. Conforms to DIN 6537L specification.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before inserting or removing the drill from the holder. Confirm the chuck or collet is sized to accept the 0.3937-inch shank diameter and that the tool is seated and clamped securely before initiating a cut. Activate coolant-through supply before beginning the drilling cycle to protect the cutting edge and maintain chip evacuation.
