The KENNAMETAL 2658218 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Ground to a 140-degree point angle with a TiAlN coating, it handles elevated cutting temperatures and resists wear when running at aggressive speeds and feeds. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.315 inches in diameter and fits standard drill chucks without adapters. At 3.5827 inches overall length with a 2.0866-inch flute length, it falls within the DIN 6537L specification for jobber drills. A web-thinned, parallel-web geometry reduces entry thrust and improves chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability makes it well suited for deep-hole applications where heat and chip buildup are concerns. Machinists and tool-room technicians working in job shops, aerospace, and general metalworking will find this drill suitable for production runs on difficult alloys.
This drill is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous materials. It is a right-hand cutting, regular spiral flute design with a standard point type. The TiAlN coating provides thermal stability when cutting ferrous materials at higher surface footage. Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with cutting tool selection and machine setup. Inspect the cutting edge and point geometry before each use and remove from service at the first sign of chipping or point wear to avoid workpiece damage.
