The KENNAMETAL 2649390 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Ground to a 140-degree point angle with web thinning and a regular spiral flute, it cuts aggressively while reducing thrust in hard and abrasive materials. The TiAlN coating extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures, making this bit well suited for dry or minimal-quantity lubrication setups. At 3.2283 inches overall length with a 1.7323-inch flute, it handles standard jobber-depth holes efficiently. Coolant-through capability supports internal flood or mist delivery for deep-hole applications. Licensed HVAC techs and machinists working in high-mix shops will recognize the DIN 6537L specification as a quality benchmark for carbide jobber drills.
This drill bit is intended for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. It fits CNC machining centers, drill presses, and rigid toolholding setups that can accept a 0.2362-inch straight cylindrical shank. The right-hand cutting direction and standard point geometry make it compatible with conventional drill cycles. Maximum drilling depth is 1.3780 inches, appropriate for through-holes and blind holes within jobber-length reach in production or maintenance machining operations.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials. Accepts any toolholder or chuck sized for a 0.2362-inch straight cylindrical shank conforming to DIN 6537L jobber drill geometry.
This drill bit is installed by machinists or toolroom technicians in CNC or manual machine tool setups. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and the shank is fully seated before clamping. Verify spindle speed and feed rate against the material being drilled before starting the cut. Do not use in handheld or flex-shaft applications where runout cannot be controlled, as carbide is brittle and will fracture under lateral loading.
