The KENNAMETAL 2624200 is an indexable square-shoulder end mill designed for milling operations that require a true 90-degree shoulder profile. Built around a Mill 1 toolholder body, it accepts EC14.. and EP14.. series inserts secured by screw clamping. The cutter runs a 1-1/4 inch cutting diameter with a maximum depth of cut of 0.57 inches (14.48 mm) and supports speeds up to 33,400 RPM. A through-coolant design with a 0.25-inch coolant hole diameter keeps the cutting zone clear and manages heat at high feed rates. This toolholder is specified and installed by machinists and CNC programmers in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments.
This end mill is suited for square-shoulder profiling, slotting, and face milling operations on machining centers and CNC mills. The 1-1/4 inch cylindrical shank with a 7.75-inch shank length and a 254 mm overall length makes it appropriate for applications requiring extended reach without sacrificing rigidity. The zero lead angle produces a true 90-degree wall on square-shoulder cuts, which is critical for part features that require perpendicular surfaces. Three insert pockets provide balanced cutting action across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials depending on insert grade selection.
Accepts EC14.. and EP14.. series indexable inserts. ISO Number M1D125E1403C125L1000 can be used for catalog cross-reference when sourcing compatible insert grades and geometries from KENNAMETAL.
Installation and toolpath programming should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the cylindrical shank in a matching 1-1/4 inch toolholder or collet chuck and verify runout before cutting. Ensure the machine spindle and through-spindle coolant circuit are fully de-energized and locked out before mounting or changing inserts. Follow the machine tool builder's torque specifications when seating insert clamping screws, and inspect insert seating and pocket condition at each insert change.
