The KENNAMETAL 2599495 is a solid carbide grooving insert in the Top Notch series, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Carrying the KC5010 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, it delivers wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding interrupted and continuous cut applications. The insert features a 4.8 mm cutting width, a maximum depth of cut of 6.35 mm, and a neutral rake geometry. It is installed and changed out by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.

This insert is suited for grooving external diameters in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where tight groove width tolerances are required. The right-hand orientation and 3-degree lead angle make it appropriate for standard OD grooving setups on conventional and Swiss-style turning equipment. Installation Notes

Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping guidelines. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping mechanism for debris or wear before seating the new insert. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut for the insert grade and workpiece material combination.
