The KENNAMETAL 2598698 is a solid carbide indexable boring bar designed for internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. It accepts CC.. 32.52 series inserts secured by screw clamping, providing repeatable insert indexing and rigid holding during interrupted or continuous cuts. The bar has a 5/8-inch (15.88 mm) shank diameter and an overall length of 10 inches (254 mm). Minimum bore diameter is 0.7701 inches (19.56 mm). The 5-degree lead angle reduces radial cutting forces and helps manage chip flow in tight-diameter bores. Coolant-through capability delivers cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, supporting higher cutting speeds and extended insert life.
This boring bar is intended for precision internal diameter work where rigidity and thermal stability are required. Solid carbide construction provides greater stiffness than steel shanks in proportion to bar diameter, making it well suited for deep bore applications where vibration and chatter must be controlled. It is a right-hand cut tool, appropriate for standard spindle rotation on conventional CNC turning setups. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments will find this bar applicable to a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials when paired with the correct CC.. 32.52 insert grade.
Designed to accept CC.. 32.52 series indexable inserts. No additional compatible model or system information was provided in the product data.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Confirm the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret or tool post is locked before mounting or removing the boring bar. Secure the shank in a calibrated boring bar holder to the full recommended clamp length to maximize rigidity and minimize runout. Follow the insert manufacturer torque guidance for the screw-clamp fastener, and verify coolant-through passages are clear and aligned with the machine coolant supply before running at speed.
