The KENNAMETAL 2504013 is a DVVN-style indexable turning toolholder designed for use on CNC and manual lathes in production and job-shop machining environments. It uses a clamp-style insert holding method and accepts VN-geometry inserts with a 3/8-inch (0.3750 inch) inscribed circle. The toolholder features a neutral hand orientation and a negative rake angle of -14 degrees, making it suited for turning operations on steel and other ferrous materials. Built from steel construction, this holder belongs to the Kenclamp series and delivers rigid, repeatable insert positioning at the cutting edge. Machinists and CNC operators install this holder as a direct-mount external turning tool.
The 2504013 is intended for external turning applications on CNC turning centers and engine lathes where a 1 x 1 inch square shank is required. The DVVNN163DKC3 designation specifies the holder geometry, shank size, and insert pocket configuration. It is appropriate for roughing and finishing passes where a neutral-hand clamp-style holder provides the necessary clearance and cutting geometry. Compatible inserts follow the VN.. 332 designation. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant delivery should be planned accordingly.
Accepts VN.. 332 series inserts with a 0.3750-inch inscribed circle. Designed as an OEM-style Kenclamp series toolholder for use with 1 x 1 inch shank tool stations on CNC turning centers and manual lathes supporting that shank size.
This toolholder is installed by machinists and CNC setup technicians. Ensure the lathe turret or tool post is fully powered down and the spindle is locked before mounting or removing the holder. Use properly calibrated torque tools when tightening the clamp screw to the insert to avoid insert rocking or premature wear. Verify shank seating depth and tool centerline height per machine tool specifications before running the first cut.
