The KENNAMETAL 2442348 is a solid carbide round milling insert carrying the ISO designation RCGT190600SHF and the ANSI code RCGT64SHF. It is manufactured in the KCPK30 grade and features a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied over a solid carbide substrate. The insert has a round shape with 4 cutting edges, a positive rake angle of 25 degrees, a 7-degree relief angle, and chamfered plus honed cutting edge preparation. With a 0.75-inch inscribed circle and a 0.25-inch thickness, this insert is designed for indexable milling toolholders and is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, K, and S. It is part of the RCGT series and carries a neutral hand designation, making it appropriate for a wide range of face milling and helical milling operations. The HF chip breaker geometry is designed for finishing cuts, producing good surface finish and controlled chip formation in demanding materials. It is compatible with KSRM cutter series toolholders. The insert is held in place by a screw-on mounting method.
Compatible with KSRM series cutter bodies from KENNAMETAL. Designed for use with screw-on style indexable milling toolholders accepting RCGT-series round inserts with a 0.75-inch inscribed circle. Verify toolholder pocket specifications before ordering.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct Torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the toolholder pocket seat for chips or damage before seating the new insert, as debris under the insert can cause premature edge failure or runout issues.
