The KENNAMETAL 2425813 is a solid carbide turning insert with an ANSI designation of TPMT2152LF and a manufacturer grade of KC5025. The insert carries a PVD-applied TiAlN coating that delivers moderate wear resistance and toughness across a range of workpiece materials. Its triangular shape provides three usable cutting edges, and the LF chip breaker geometry is engineered for finishing and light machining passes. The insert measures 11.00 mm (0.4331 inches) in length, carries a 1/4-inch inscribed circle, and features a 1/32-inch corner radius. Side clearance is positive, rake is positive, and the cutting edge is honed for a controlled, consistent edge condition.
This insert is suited to CNC turning, facing, and boring operations on stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. The KC5025 grade is classified for use across ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S, making it a versatile choice for shops running mixed-material workloads on light finishing cuts. Maximum depth of cut is 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches). The screw-on holding method is compatible with standard TPMT-style toolholders used in production turning applications.
Designed for use in TPMT-style screw-on turning toolholders. Compatible with ISO TPMT 110208 and ANSI TPMT 2152 insert seats. Suitable for turning, facing, and boring applications across ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S.
Installation and insert indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state. Use the manufacturer-recommended torque driver or clamp screw tool for the screw-on seat to ensure proper seating without cracking the carbide body. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before mounting. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine tool manufacturer guidelines when changing inserts at speed or after a crash.
