The KENNAMETAL 2425807 is a TCMT3252LF-geometry solid carbide turning insert finished with a PVD TiAlN coating and assigned grade KC5025. The insert features a 60-degree triangle shape (TCMT style) with a neutral hand orientation, a positive rake angle of 5 degrees, and a 7-degree relief angle. The LF chip breaker geometry is engineered for finishing and light machining operations. With 3 usable cutting edges and a screw-on holding method, this insert suits high-volume turning applications where consistent surface finish and edge predictability matter. Licensed ANSI code TCMT3252 and ISO code TCMT16T308 make cross-referencing straightforward for tool crib management.
This insert is primarily targeted at turning, facing, and boring operations on stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, with additional suitability across steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians following standard insert indexing procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to tighten the clamping screw - do not overtighten, as this can fracture the insert. Inspect the insert seat and clamp pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
