The KENNAMETAL 2425782 is a solid carbide turning insert with grade designation CPMT2152LF in the KC5025 grade. It carries a PVD-applied TiAlN coating that supports moderate wear resistance and toughness across a range of workpiece materials. The insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a positive rake angle of 5 degrees, an 11-degree relief angle, and a honed cutting edge style. The inscribed circle measures 0.25 inches, insert length is 6.45 mm (0.2539 inches), thickness is 0.0938 inches, and the corner radius is 0.0313 inches (1/32 inch). Screw-on holding method is standard. The insert is rated neutral hand and delivers two cutting edges per insert.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous materials. The LF chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing and light machining cuts, with a maximum depth of cut of 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches). It is a multi-use tool applicable across a range of light-duty lathe and mill-turn applications. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shop, aerospace, and general manufacturing environments will find this insert appropriate for precision finishing passes requiring controlled chip formation.
Designed to fit toolholders accepting CPMT-style screw-on inserts per ANSI designation CPMT2152 and ISO designation CPMT060208. Suitable for steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), aluminum and non-ferrous (N), and superalloys and titanium (S) workpiece material classifications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key driver specified for the insert screw to avoid damaging the screw seat or carbide body. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before installing a new insert.
