The KENNAMETAL 2425456 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding production environments. It measures 11.30 mm (0.4449 inches) in diameter with a 140-degree point angle and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life in abrasive and heat-intensive cutting conditions. The overall length is 118.00 mm (4.6457 inches) with a 71.00 mm (2.7953-inch) flute length. Material grade KC7315 and DIN 6537K specification make this a precision-ground tool suited for CNC machining centers and production drilling operations. Installation and use are handled by machinists and tooling specialists in job shops and manufacturing facilities.
This drill is engineered for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and coolant-through design support deep-hole drilling applications where chip evacuation and heat dissipation are critical. The straight cylindrical shank with a 12 mm (0.4724-inch) diameter fits standard drill chucks and collet holders commonly used in vertical machining centers and drill presses. The right-hand spiral flute geometry and tapered web configuration improve centering accuracy and reduce thrust load at entry.
Designed as a DIN 6537K-specification jobber drill for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and multi-spindle setups where a straight-shank 11.30 mm carbide drill with coolant-through capability is required. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys.
This drill should be installed and operated by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Ensure the machine spindle and collet or chuck are clean and within tolerance before seating the straight shank, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to runout. Verify coolant-through lines are active before beginning deep-hole cycles to prevent chip packing and thermal cracking. Always reference the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when changing tooling on live equipment.
