The KENNAMETAL 2425323 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 6.20 mm cutting diameter, a 140-degree split point, and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The web-thinned, standard point geometry reduces thrust force at entry and improves centering accuracy. Overall length is 91 mm (3.5827 inches) with a flute length of 53 mm (2.0866 inches). The straight cylindrical shank measures 8 mm in diameter and 36 mm in length. This drill is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC and manual machine tools.
The 2425323 is rated for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. Its regular spiral flute geometry provides efficient chip evacuation in a wide range of workpiece materials. The drill supports coolant-through delivery, making it well suited for deep-hole applications where heat management and chip clearing are critical. Maximum drilling depth is 43 mm. It is built to DIN 6537L specification and carries material grade KC7315, positioning it as a high-performance tool for production and job-shop environments.
Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys. Drill bit size falls within the 6.00 to 7.00 mm range (0.2000 to 0.2500 decimal inch range). Straight cylindrical shank is compatible with standard ER collet chucks, drill chucks, and hydraulic toolholders accepting an 8 mm shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a full stop and lockout-tagout procedures applied per shop safety standards. Ensure the toolholder runout is within specification before mounting to preserve cutting edge integrity and hole tolerance. Coolant-through setups require that the spindle and toolholder supply ports are clear and delivering adequate flow before initiating a cut. Do not use this drill in handheld or non-rigid setups; solid carbide tooling is brittle and requires a stable, vibration-free machine spindle.
