Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 2425310 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit with a TiAlN coating and a 140-degree split point designed for high-performance drilling in metal fabrication and machining applications. It measures 4.70 mm (0.1850 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 74.00 mm (2.9134 inches) and a flute length of 36.00 mm (1.4173 inches). The right-hand cutting geometry and web-thinned point reduce entry force and help center the drill without a pilot hole. Coolant-through capability supports higher feed rates and longer tool life in production environments. This drill is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance mechanics working on CNC or manual drilling equipment.

This drill is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials in both production and job-shop settings. The TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance at elevated cutting speeds, making it appropriate for dry or minimal-lubrication drilling where heat buildup is a concern. The straight cylindrical shank with a 6 mm (0.2362-inch) diameter fits standard drill chucks and collet systems without modification. Maximum recommended drilling depth is 29.00 mm per the manufacturer specification. It conforms to DIN 6537L standards for jobber-length carbide drills.

Key Features

  • Solid carbide construction for rigidity and wear resistance in hard and abrasive materials
  • TiAlN coating extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures
  • 140-degree point angle with web thinning reduces thrust and improves self-centering
  • Coolant-through design supports high feed rates and chip evacuation in deep-hole applications
  • Regular spiral flute geometry provides consistent chip flow across the supported material range
  • Conforms to DIN 6537L specification for dimensional consistency

Compatibility

Designed for use in standard CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual drilling equipment accepting a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials as specified by the manufacturer.

Installation Notes

This drill bit is installed by machinists and machining technicians in drill chucks or collet holders rated for the 6 mm shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is properly torqued before use. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and coolant supply is active when operating in coolant-through mode. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated maximum drilling depth of 29.00 mm without retracting to clear chips.
