Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 2425305 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit with a 140-degree point angle and a multilayer TiAlN coating. It measures 3.70 mm (0.1457 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 66.00 mm (2.5984 inches). The straight-cylindrical shank has a diameter of 6 mm (0.2362 inches). Designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments, this bit features a regular right-hand spiral flute, a tapered web configuration, and coolant-through capability. It conforms to DIN 6537K and carries material grade KC7315. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this drill.

This drill is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 28.00 mm (1.1024 inches) flute length support chip evacuation in moderate-depth holes. Maximum drilling depth is 23.00 mm (0.9055 inches). The coolant-through design makes it appropriate for high-speed CNC machining centers and drill presses where through-spindle coolant is available. It is equally usable in manual applications where chip clearing is managed by the operator.

Key Features

  • Solid carbide construction with multilayer TiAlN coating for extended tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials
  • 140-degree point angle reduces thrust and improves self-centering on entry
  • Coolant-through design supports high-speed drilling with improved chip evacuation and heat management
  • Tapered web configuration adds strength at the drill core
  • Right-hand regular spiral flute with 5xD ratio for consistent chip flow
  • Conforms to DIN 6537K specification, material grade KC7315

Compatibility

Designed as a DIN 6537K-compliant solid carbide jobber drill for use in CNC machining centers and manual drill presses capable of accepting a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials within the 3.00 mm to 4.00 mm drill bit size range.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the straight shank in a collet, drill chuck, or hydraulic tool holder rated for the shank diameter before operation. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. When using coolant-through capability, verify that coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machine manufacturer's specifications for the tool holder in use.
