The KENNAMETAL 2425143 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-productivity drilling in ferrous materials. Built from solid carbide and coated with multilayer TiAlN, it delivers heat resistance and extended tool life in demanding production environments. The bit measures 8.70 mm in diameter with an overall length of 89.00 mm and features a 140-degree split point for accurate entry and reduced thrust. A web-thinned, parallel-web geometry minimizes walking and improves chip evacuation. This bit is sized for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine applications where consistent hole quality and tool longevity are priorities. Installation is performed by machinists and tool-setup technicians in light to heavy manufacturing settings.
The 2425143 is suited for drilling cast iron and steel in production-volume environments. Its screw machine length profile provides added rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, making it well-matched for short, precise holes in tight setups. The straight cylindrical shank measures 10.00 mm in diameter, compatible with standard collet chucks and drill chucks used in CNC and manual machining operations. The two-flute regular spiral design supports consistent chip removal during through and blind-hole drilling. Maximum recommended drilling depth is 35.00 mm.
Designed for drilling cast iron and steel workpieces. Compatible with standard collet chucks and drill chucks accepting a 10.00 mm straight cylindrical shank. Part of the KENNAMETAL Series B966 solid carbide drill line.
This drill bit is installed by machinists and CNC setup technicians. Secure the shank fully in the collet or drill chuck and verify runout before cutting. Ensure the machine spindle is at a complete stop before tool changes. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for the specific workpiece material to avoid premature tool wear or breakage.
