The KENNAMETAL 2425113 is a screw machine length drill bit engineered for precision drilling in ferrous materials. Built from solid carbide and coated with a multilayer TiAlN finish, this bit delivers extended tool life in demanding production environments. It measures 4.10 mm in diameter with a 66.00 mm overall length and features a 140-degree split point with web thinning for reduced thrust and improved self-centering at entry. The straight cylindrical shank and two-flute regular spiral design suit it for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine setups. Diameter tolerance is held to +0.004 to +0.016 mm, making it appropriate for close-tolerance bored holes in cast iron and steel.
This drill bit is designed for short-hole applications where a compact flute length and rigid carbide substrate provide an advantage over standard length tooling. Its primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel, making it a practical choice for job shop production, automotive component machining, and general metalworking operations. The DIN 6537K specification ensures dimensional conformance to a recognized international standard. Maximum drilling depth is rated at 17.00 mm, keeping the tool in its optimal performance range for screw machine and stub-length applications. Machinists and CNC operators in production environments will find this bit suited to high-cycle drilling programs.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces. Fits standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 6.00 mm straight shank. Compatible with CNC machining centers, turret lathes, and screw machine setups running Series B966 tooling.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle at a full stop and machine power locked out per applicable safety procedures. Ensure the shank seating depth in the collet or chuck meets the toolholder manufacturer's minimum engagement requirement before securing. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 17.00 mm without re-evaluating chip evacuation, as this is a non-coolant-through design. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each production run to maintain hole tolerance.
