The KENNAMETAL 2383778 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit with a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Built from solid carbide stock, the bit delivers the rigidity and heat resistance required when cutting hard and abrasive materials at elevated feeds and speeds. The TiAlN coating reduces thermal wear and extends tool life compared to uncoated or standard HSS tooling. At 75.00 mm overall length with a straight cylindrical shank and right-hand spiral flute geometry, it fits standard drill chucks and collet-style toolholders common in CNC machining centers and manual drill presses.
This drill is rated for high-performance grade applications across a broad range of workpiece materials including carbon and alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous alloys. It is well suited for production shops, maintenance facilities, and fabrication operations where consistent hole quality and tool longevity matter. The straight cylindrical shank and jobber-length profile make it a direct fit in most standard toolholding setups without special adapters. Package quantity is one piece per unit.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, manual drill presses, and handheld drilling equipment fitted with standard drill chucks or collet toolholders accepting a straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials.
Installation and toolchanging should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per standard OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the chuck or collet is tightened to the toolholder manufacturer's specification before initiating a cut. Solid carbide tooling is brittle relative to HSS — avoid side-loading or prying with the bit, as lateral shock can cause fracture. A qualified machinist or toolroom technician should verify spindle speed, feed rate, and coolant delivery before running production cycles.
