The KENNAMETAL 2267616 is an indexable square-shoulder face mill designed for precision milling operations on machining centers and CNC mills. Built around the Mill 1-18 series platform, this cutter accepts 5 inserts in the EC18 or EP18 insert style, secured by screw-type insert holding. The 0/90 degree lead angle delivers true 90-degree shoulder milling, making it well-suited for step milling, face milling, and shoulder profiling. The 3-inch maximum cutting diameter and 18.03 mm (0.71 inch) maximum depth of cut cover a broad range of roughing and semi-finishing passes. Through-coolant capability supports chip evacuation and insert life at higher feed rates.
This face mill is used in industrial metalworking environments including job shops, aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing. It is installed on horizontal and vertical machining centers by machinists and tooling specialists. The right-hand cutting direction and 1-inch arbor hole diameter are standard configurations for CAT, BT, and similar arbor-style toolholders common on production equipment. The Mill 1-18 series is a well-established platform, and the 2267616 body is a direct fit for that tooling ecosystem. Always confirm spindle interface and torque specifications with your machine tool documentation before mounting.
Compatible with EC18 and EP18 insert styles. Designed for use in the Kennametal Mill 1-18 series tooling platform with a 1-inch arbor hole interface. Confirm insert grade and geometry selection with the applicable Kennametal insert catalog for your workpiece material.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or changing the cutter body or inserts. Ensure the arbor and spindle interface are clean and free of chips or burrs before seating the cutter. Follow the machine tool manufacturer torque specifications for drawbar and arbor hardware; do not use values from general reference charts unless confirmed for your specific spindle interface.
