The KENNAMETAL 2263361 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the A4 series standard, this insert features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, which improves wear resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The insert carries the G0605M0GMN designation, indicating a 6.05 mm cutting width, a GMN chip breaker geometry, and a neutral hand orientation. The KC5010 grade targets applications requiring a hard, wear-resistant edge. Machinists and tooling technicians working in production turning environments are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is suited for external and internal grooving operations where a 6.05 mm wide groove is required. The neutral hand configuration allows use in both left-hand and right-hand applications depending on the toolholder setup. With a maximum depth of cut of 4.90 mm and a corner radius of 0.40 mm, it handles groove profiles that fall within the A4 series envelope. It is appropriate for use in general machining of steel, alloy steel, and similar materials classified under C3 and C4 material grades. Typical installations occur in job shops and production facilities running medium to high-volume turned components.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for A4 series grooving toolholders that accept the G0605M0 insert size. No specific compatible toolholder model numbers were provided in the product data.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque specifications. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Do not use damaged or chipped inserts, as improper seating can result in insert failure or workpiece damage.
