The KENNAMETAL 2257314 is a solid carbide milling insert manufactured to the SEPT13T3AGENGD ISO geometry for use in precision milling applications. It carries the KC725M manufacturer grade and features a multilayer PVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and TiN that improves wear resistance and edge retention when cutting ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. The square insert body has a 90-degree included angle, a neutral hand orientation, and a GD chip breaker geometry. At 0.1563 inches thick with an inscribed circle of 0.4724 inches and a 0.0591-inch corner radius, this insert is suited for finishing and semi-finishing operations. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary installers.
This insert is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material grades C5, C6, and C7 with primary workpiece material codes P, M, and S. It is retained in the cutter body by a screw-holding method, making it compatible with standard SEPT-series milling cutter bodies designed for 13-size inserts. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and pocketing operations on CNC machining centers in both job-shop and production environments where consistent chip control and coating durability are required across varying feed and speed conditions.

Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout control.
