The KENNAMETAL 2249716 is an ER40 collet chuck designed for CNC machining centers and milling applications requiring precise tool holding with through-coolant capability. Mounted on a CAT50 taper shank, this chuck accepts ER40 collets spanning a capacity range of 3.05 mm to 26 mm (0.12 inches to 1.0236 inches), accommodating a wide variety of cutting tool shanks. The 3-inch projection positions the collet nut away from the spindle face for clearance in deep-pocket and cavity work. Balanced to 12,000 RPM, it suits high-speed spindle applications where runout control and coolant delivery to the cutting edge are critical. Installation and adjustment are performed with a standard collet wrench acting on the actuator.
This collet chuck is used in production and job-shop environments on vertical and horizontal machining centers equipped with CAT50 spindles. Verify runout at the tool tip with a dial indicator before returning the spindle to production use.
