The KENNAMETAL 2249714 is an ER32 collet chuck with a CAT50 taper shank, designed for use in CNC machining centers where precise tool holding and coolant delivery are required. It accepts ER32 collets with a capacity range of 2.03 mm (0.08 inches) to 20 mm (0.7874 inches), covering a wide range of cutting tool shanks. The chuck features a 2.75-inch projection and an overall length of 6.75 inches. Through-spindle and DIN flange coolant compatibility allows direct coolant delivery to the cutting zone, supporting high-speed and high-precision operations. The unit is balanced to 12,000 RPM, making it suitable for demanding production environments.
This collet chuck is intended for use in CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers equipped with CAT50 spindles. It is well-suited for production milling, drilling, reaming, and tapping operations in job shops, aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking facilities. The ER32 collet system is a widely used standard, making this chuck a practical choice when tooling flexibility across multiple tool diameters is required. Actuation is performed with a standard wrench, and the 50.01 mm collet nut accommodates standard ER32 nuts and spanners.
Designed for use with ER32 collets in CAT50 spindle machining centers. Collet nut diameter is 50.01 mm (1.969 inches), compatible with standard ER32 collet nuts and spanners.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine spindle powered down and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use the correct ER32 spanner wrench and holding fixture when tightening or loosening the collet nut to avoid damage to the taper or collet seating surfaces. Inspect the CAT50 taper and spindle bore for chips or debris before mounting. Verify coolant port connections are secure before resuming operation to prevent leaks at the spindle interface.
