The KENNAMETAL 2245292 is a 4-flute indexable square-shoulder end mill designed for high-efficiency shoulder milling and face milling operations on machining centers and CNC mills. Built to the KISR cutter style, it accepts AD.T 1035 series inserts secured by screw clamping and delivers a maximum depth of cut of 0.357 inches at a 0 degree lead angle. The 1-inch Weldon Flat shank provides positive drive and slip resistance in standard end mill holders. Through-coolant capability directs cutting fluid directly to the insert edges, supporting higher material removal rates and extended insert life. Rated to 12,800 RPM, this body suits both roughing and finishing passes in steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials.
This end mill is suited for job shops and production facilities running 1-inch tooling on VMCs, HMCs, or manual knee mills with appropriate speed and feed capability. The Weldon Flat shank seats in standard 1-inch end mill holders and shrink-fit adapters with a flat drive keyway. The 4-insert configuration and 0 degree lead angle produce a true 90-degree shoulder wall, making it appropriate for pocketing, slotting, and step-milling applications where square-wall geometry is required. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling setup personnel.
Compatible with ADKT 1035 and ADPT 1035 series indexable inserts. Designed as an OEM-style fit for KISR-family tooling systems using 1-inch Weldon Flat end mill holders.
Installation and tooling changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Torque insert clamping screws using the appropriate Torx or hex key to manufacturer specification found in the tooling documentation included with the body. Inspect the insert pockets and locating surfaces for chips or damage before seating new inserts. Confirm shank runout with a dial indicator after mounting to verify proper holder engagement before resuming cuts.
