The KENNAMETAL 2245283 is a solid carbide milling insert with ISO designation ADKT103516PDERLC and manufacturer grade KCPK30. It features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3, making it well suited for demanding cutting applications. The insert has a parallelogram shape with an 85-degree included angle, a right-hand cutting orientation, and a 15-degree relief angle. At 0.1378 inches thick and 0.2638 inches wide, it is designed for use in compatible milling toolholders requiring screw-style insert retention. Machinists and tooling technicians working in production or job-shop environments are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to ISO material grades P, M, K, and S. The LC chip breaker geometry is designed to manage chip formation across these workpiece materials in roughing and semi-finishing passes. It fits ADKT-series toolholders requiring a size 16 insert with a 1/16-inch corner radius. The maximum depth of cut is 0.5510 inches, and the inscribed circle measures 0.5512 inches, confirming standard ADKT16 seating geometry.

Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw to the toolholder specification without overtightening, which can fracture carbide. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface for chips or debris before seating the insert. Handle solid carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edge prior to use.
