The KENNAMETAL 2245191 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding production environments. Built to DIN 6537L specification, this drill features a 140-degree split point geometry with web thinning to reduce thrust force and improve centering on entry. The TiAlN coating provides heat and wear resistance for extended tool life in high-speed applications. With a 9.90 mm cutting diameter and 103 mm overall length, it suits through-hole and blind-hole work in precision machining operations. Installation and use are handled by machinists and CNC operators working with drill presses, machining centers, and manual lathes equipped with appropriate collet or chuck tooling.
This drill is rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials, making it a versatile choice across general metalworking, tool-and-die, maintenance, and production machining. The straight cylindrical shank with a 10 mm shank diameter fits standard drill chucks and collet systems. Coolant-through capability supports internal cutting fluid delivery for deep-hole applications and heat management in difficult-to-machine alloys. Maximum drilling depth is 49 mm, appropriate for jobber-length reach requirements in most common workpiece setups.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement or production drill for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines equipped with collet or chuck systems accepting a 10 mm straight cylindrical shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC operators. Secure the straight shank firmly in a collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before operation, and verify runout with an indicator if tolerance-critical holes are required. Ensure the coolant-through circuit is properly connected and flowing before engaging the cut when using internal coolant. Always power down or e-stop the machine and confirm zero spindle rotation before changing or inspecting the drill.
