The KENNAMETAL 2244914 is a VNMG432MS indexable turning insert in the KENLOC series, coated with TiAlN via a PVD process and manufactured from solid carbide. It features a 35-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a honed cutting edge style. The inscribed circle measures 0.5000 inches, the insert length is 22.14 mm (approximately 0.8715 inches), and the corner radius is 1/32 inch (0.0313 inches). With four cutting edges and negative rake and side clearance geometry, this insert is designed for high wear-resistance across roughing and medium machining operations. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert in compatible KENLOC-style toolholders.
The 2244914 is suited for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring applications on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The KC5510 grade delivers high wear-resistance to moderate wear-resistance and toughness across P, M, K, N, and S workpiece material categories. It is appropriate for both light production and higher-demand roughing passes at shallow depths, with a maximum depth of cut of 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches). This insert is a fit for machine shops running horizontal lathes, CNC turning centers, and multi-axis turning equipment where frequent edge indexing is part of normal workflow.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and in a safe, locked-out state before changing inserts.
