The KENNAMETAL 2210101 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ISO designation SEHW1204AFTN and manufacturer grade KCPK30. It features a square insert shape in the SEHW series with a 90-degree included angle, four cutting edges, and a neutral hand orientation. The insert is CVD-coated with a TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 multilayer stack, making it suitable for demanding milling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys including titanium. The T-Land cutting edge style and positive rake geometry help control cutting forces. Licensed HVAC and machining trade professionals install these in indexable milling cutter bodies secured by screw clamping.
This insert is intended for indexable milling applications across a range of workpiece materials including steel (P-grade), stainless steel (M-grade), cast iron (K-grade), and superalloys and titanium (S-grade). The flat-top chip breaker and positive rake are suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where consistent chip control matters. It conforms to both ANSI code SEHW43A6T and ISO code SEHW1204AFTN, fitting tool bodies designed around that insert geometry. Typical install environments include CNC machining centers and manual milling machines in job shop, production, and maintenance machining settings.
Designed for use in indexable milling cutter bodies that accept SEHW-series square inserts conforming to ANSI code SEHW43A6T or ISO code SEHW1204AFTN with a 0.5000 inch inscribed circle. Compatible workpiece material grades are P, M, K, and S per ISO material classification.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle locked out and machine power off. Use a calibrated torque driver when tightening the clamping screw — refer to the cutter body manufacturer specifications for the correct torque value, as it is not specified here. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface for chips or debris before indexing to a fresh cutting edge. Dispose of worn inserts according to applicable shop hazardous-material procedures for carbide tooling.
