The KENNAMETAL 2043236 is a solid carbide milling insert in the ADKT series, designed for indexable milling applications in demanding metalworking environments. The insert carries the ISO designation ADKT103516PDERLC and is manufactured to the KC725M grade. It features a triple-layer PVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and TiN, which delivers wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted cuts. The parallelogram insert shape, 85-degree included angle, 15-degree relief angle, and 7-degree rake angle make it suited for medium-to-finish milling passes on difficult materials. The LC chip breaker geometry aids in controlled chip formation across a range of feed rates.
This insert is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, covering material grades C5, C6, and C7 (ISO material codes P, M, and S). It is a right-hand insert and is secured in the milling cutter body using a screw-type holding method. Typical applications include face milling and shoulder milling on CNC machining centers in production environments. Machinists and tooling specialists working in aerospace, energy, and general manufacturing will find this insert appropriate for high-temperature alloys and stainless grades where edge retention is critical.
Designed for use in ADKT-series compatible indexable milling cutter bodies that accept screw-clamped parallelogram inserts with a 0.1142-inch hole diameter. Confirm cutter body pocket geometry and insert size code 16224 before installation.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before handling indexable inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torque driver for the clamping screw to ensure proper seating without insert cracking. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before fitting a new insert.
