The KENNAMETAL 1992230 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built to DIN 6537L specification, it features a 140-degree point angle with web thinning for reduced thrust and cleaner entry, a TiAlN coating for heat resistance and extended tool life, and a regular spiral flute geometry optimized for chip evacuation. The drill measures 7.70 mm (0.3031 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 91.00 mm (3.5827 inches). Coolant-through capability makes it suitable for deep-hole and production drilling where heat management is critical. Material grade KC7315 positions this drill for consistent performance across a broad range of workpiece materials.
This drill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials in both production and job-shop environments. The straight cylindrical shank, 8 mm (0.3150 inches) in diameter, fits standard drill chucks and collet systems. With a maximum drilling depth of 43.00 mm and a flute length of 53.00 mm (2.0866 inches), it handles typical jobber-length through-hole and blind-hole operations on CNC machining centers, lathes, and drill presses used in metal fabrication and precision machining.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement or production drill for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpieces where a 7.70 mm diameter hole is required. Fits any standard drill chuck or collet accepting an 8 mm straight shank.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle and tool holder are clean and free of runout before seating the straight shank. Confirm coolant-through passages in the spindle are clear and pressurized before engaging coolant-through mode. Follow the machine manufacturer and OSHA guidelines for spindle speed, feed rate selection, and workholding before beginning any drilling operation.
