Running under grade KY1540, this uncoated ceramic insert delivers high wear resistance suited to demanding interrupted and continuous cuts. The round insert shape (ANSI code RNG43, ISO RNG120400) provides a full-radius cutting edge with 8 available cutting edges per insert, improving tool utilization. The T-Land cutting edge style and flat-top chip breaker geometry support negative rake operation, which is standard for ceramic tooling in hardened-material applications. The insert measures 0.5 inches inscribed circle and 0.1875 inches thick.

This insert is intended for turning, facing, and boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers in production and job-shop environments. Installation Notes

Insert seating and clamping should be performed with the machine powered down and spindle locked. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert. Ceramic inserts are brittle; avoid impact loads during handling and do not use coolant strategies that cause thermal shock unless the grade is rated for wet cutting.
