The KENNAMETAL 1926595 is a CNMG4305FN solid carbide turning insert in the KC5010 grade, coated with TiAlN via PVD process for high wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. The insert measures 12.90 mm (0.5077 inches) in length with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle and a 0.0079 inch corner radius. It features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, negative rake, and neutral hand orientation. The FN chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing operations. Licensed HVAC techs and machinists running CNC turning centers or manual lathes will find this insert well suited for tight-tolerance finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, and superalloy workpieces.
This insert is designed for turning, facing, and boring applications. The KC5010 grade delivers high wear resistance with moderate toughness, making it appropriate for finishing cuts on steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), aluminum (N), and superalloys and titanium (S). The negative side clearance and honed cutting edge style support stable, consistent chip formation during light finishing passes. It is held in KENLOC-compatible toolholders using a clamp and pin method. Typical applications include finishing passes on CNC turning centers in production and job-shop environments handling steel and stainless components.
Conforms to ANSI insert code CNMG4305 and ISO insert code CNMG120402. Designed for use in KENLOC-compatible toolholders that accept CNMG-style inserts held by clamp and pin. Suitable for primary workpiece materials coded P, M, K, N, and S per ISO material classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholder torque and clamping procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool turret is de-energized before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the toolholder seat and clamping pin for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine guarding requirements during insert changeover.
